[ At first he hadn't noticed that Steve was missing. Will still kept his head down when it came to Rogers and it wasn't until the second night, when it felt like Bucky had been awake and pacing the entire night that Will had fully recognized something was wrong.

After that, though he felt he could see the desperation growing in Barnes and he wanted to help, Will had recognized that the best help he could give was room. Room for Bucky and Jack to process the loss together, because Will's relationship with Steve had been awkward and moving in to comfort Bucky would have felt akin to dancing on a grave.

Bucky and Jack needed one another, Bucky and Natasha needed one another and Will understood that the best way he could help, was respect and support those needs.

He came to them now, mostly because Hannibal had forced his hand and Will knew that letting things wait would only risk Hannibal finding a crack to wriggle into. ]
